Used Instruments For Sale

Beautiful, reliable, hand crafted...for the true purpose of making music

Laubin oboe Laubin oboes are made by hand, using mostly the same tools and machines used to make oboes for over a century. Every part of each oboe is individually hand-fit, resulting in a level of precision and reliability which remains unmatched by instruments made using computer-controlled machines and standardized parts. The wood is aged for at least ten years. The keys are heavily silver-plated and hand-burnished for beauty and durability. An ebonite sleeve in the upper joint helps to prevent cracking and extend the life of the oboe. The bore, undercutting, and tone-hole placement have been perfected over eight decades. Our goal is to make your life as a musician easier; rather than worry about the instrument, you can focus your attention on making music.

Have you been waiting for years for a Laubin oboe? We need to hear from you! A lot can change in 5 or 10 years. You may have moved, or changed your email address, or quit playing the oboe, or all of the above. The wait list has gotten too long, and our contact info for many customers is out-of-date. We may not be able to contact you when your name comes up - which is awful, if you still want an oboe after all this time! If you are on the wait list, please contact us to confirm your order and update your contact information. We have been estimating wait times of 8 to 10 years, but we can only sell oboes to people we can talk to. So if you contact us, you may be able to get a new oboe sooner than you think. Please pass this along to anyone you know who may be on the list.
